Fort Bend Heritage Project

Picture
As one of the most ethnically-diverse counties in the United States, Fort Bend County is teeming with amazing stories, characters and places. The Fort Bend History Association is committed to telling a complete historical narrative that includes everyone who helped build and shape Fort Bend County history — and we need your help to do that! Here are some ways you can get involved:
TELL US YOUR STORY
Everyone has a story to tell! Did you (or your parents or grandparents) grow up in Fort Bend County? Tell us about your family, your heirlooms or any special memory that connects your life experience to the story of our county.

Click here to fill out the online story submission form.

JOIN A TASK FORCE
We need community members to join our task force! The Fort Bend Heritage Project includes a number of different events at different sites throughout the Fort Bend History Association. The commitment is only a few hours per month, and your input and support is absolutely critical for the successful implementation of these projects and events:
  • Exhibits: Help give guidance and insight to the Fort Bend History Association’s exhibits team! This will include exhibits at the Fort Bend Museum, George Ranch Historical Park and for traveling exhibits to be placed throughout the county.
  • Become a Volunteer Interpreter: As we expand the narrative at the George Ranch Historical Park, we need volunteers to help interpret and showcase the lives of African American families who lived and worked on the Ranch.

Click here to sign up to join a task force.
