"Don't make me repeat myself" - HistoryThe quote above always makes us smile. Whether for better or worse, we all know history lends itself to repetition, and we at the Fort Bend History Association like to recall this quote as we reflect on our role in both sharing and making history.
Formed in 1967, the Fort Bend History Association aims to deliver on this mission - to contribute to a positive path forward - through preserved historic structures such as the 1883 Moore Home, 1855 Long-Smith Cottage, and Decker Park, alongside our recently renovated Fort Bend Museum, DeWalt Heritage Center and the Fort Bend Archeological Society. OUR MISSION The Fort Bend History Association Annual Fund enables the Museum to showcase exciting exhibitions and host engaging educational programs. With an aim to foster a revitalized sense of purpose and connection to Fort Bend History and beyond, your donation is an investment that ensures our ability to do so. PRESERVE . . . the history of Fort Bend County for future generations. EDCATE . . . individuals and groups about Texas History and Culture. INSPIRE . . . a sense of wonder about Fort Bend History. COMMUNITY . . . History connects us all and communities are strengthened and empowered together to accomplish more together. Help us set the pace for an exciting future! Below are examples of what your donation helps us accomplish. History Hero - $1000 helps us conserve a painting in our collection. History Advocate - $500 underwrites a free lecture for the community. History Ally - $250 covers the cost of a field trip for a 4th grade class. Fort Bend Friend - $100 provides hands on activities for the public. |
